Sew Your Own Shoulder Bag is a video course that comes with a downloadable pattern and class supply list. I know that people like my Designs by Emelia bags, but don’t want to pay the boutique price. (After you make one, you might understand why they are not cheap.) That’s why I decided to share my pattern and instructions so that anyone that wants to can make their own.
Last November I was so excited to share with y’all my first online class on Skillshare. Since I have done a complete re-design of Once Sewn, I am sharing that experience again. This class is set up in small segments so you don’t have to watch the whole class in one sitting.
The finished class project with have a hidden pocket on the outside of the bag.
The base of the bag is sewn with faux leather, giving it some class. Not to mention it is easy to wipe clean!
There is a zipper placket that is sewn in to the top of the bag for a closure.
In this class I went with a cotton webbing strap with antique brass hardware. This is the easiest kind of material to make a strap.
This is the trailer that I made for the course. It’s a little bit silly, but I do like to have fun! Being serious has never been my strength.
My class has been up on Skillshare for about one and half months and I am planning to make another one after Christmas. You can sign up for one free month which gives you 30 days to make your own shoulder bag.
