A whole week has gone by without a blog post and I just can’t stand to be away for so long. I don’t have anything to share that I made this week, so I will share a little bit about our move. If you read the end of my last post you may already know about the big move. Two years in Texas wasn’t long enough, but the Lord has other plans for us and so the next thing you know, we are moving to Kansas.
We arrived in Wichita last Tuesday and moved into our house on Wednesday. One of the great things about the neigborhood we live in are the walk ways. There is a nice pathway around a man made lake just at the end of our cul-de-sac. I was very happy to see the mallard ducks and geese because it reminded me of Minnesota. I grew up with ducks and geese around the lakes so they make me feel at home here. Sammy our dog of course loves them too. You can see his stance, he is just ready to go play with them.
They didn’t want anything to do with him. Off they went into the water, so sorry Sammy. You will have to play another day.
The one part of moving that I do like is finding treasure like this. I found this doll that I made for Becca many years ago. The pattern is called Poppy, by Ysolda Teague. Very fun little project. She now lives in my room in this bowl with a pitcher. My daughter has outgrown her, but I sure haven’t!
Rob and I went to the local Verizon store to get new numbers. I know this is probably not exciting news, but I was very happy about it. I have been wanting to get a new phone and now was my chance.
Which is why I look so happy. I know it is a material thing and wont buy me happiness, but I sure will appreciate it. So, that is all the fun I have to share at this point. The house is a mess, but slowly I am finding a new home for things and passing on the things that I don’t really need. I thought I did that before I moved, but there is still more.
